Safety Stocking Stuffers Almost Any Adult Will Appreciate

December 19, 2016 By Wise Owls

Being prepared and staying aware of your surroundings will help you and your family stay safer in dangerous, unpredictable situations. These safety tools are great for “being prepared” in a variety of emergencies. While your adult giftee might not be interested in all 5 of our picks, almost any adult could appreciate at least 1 from this list.  Best of all, these items cost less than $25.

(**We keep it honest…. Our post includes some hand-picked affiliate links below.**)

#1. Car Safety Tool – Breaks glass and cuts seatbelts

This is a must have item for every car. Seconds can matter after a car collision or other auto emergency. This tool allows you to quickly cut a seat belt or break a car window for a quick escape. The tool also comes with a special mounting bracket that will hold your tool (even in a collision) while keeping it within arms reach.

#2. In Case of Emergency, Save Our Pet Window Clings

These are one of my personal favorites and they can even fit inside a holiday card. These vinyl cling safety stickers help alert emergency personnel (fire, police, ambulance) that you have furry friend(s) in your home who would need saving in an emergency too.  I personally have these displayed in both my front and back door windows for my own furry friends.  Such a simple gift that gives huge peace-of-mind.

#3. Walking Reflectors – Keep visible at night

If you know someone who walks the dog or takes a run at dusk, help drivers see them properly.  Black is an all too common color for workout clothing and outerwear.  While it may help you feel slim, it also makes you practically invisible to nearby driving cars.  These Velcro reflective bands can easily be worn over clothing and  around your legs or arms (or even on a pet) to help you be seen in the dark.  If you want something even brighter and more noticeable, try these Flashing LEDs you can wear.

#4. Leatherman Multi-tool

This tools does it all in a small, convenient package.  From the simple everyday of cutting of a tag, to more intense jobs requiring the strength of pliers, this tools has got something to help.  An all-in-one tool that is great for anyone’s car glove box, purse, keys or pocket (just not on an airplane).  I like and own this particular brand multi-tool myself (yep, mine’s pink even).   The company and their unique, long lasting tool design have been around for quite sometime and their products are made in the USA.

#5. Tile Key (or Anything) Finder

Misplacing your keys, purse, or other important items is so frustrating, but can also be dangerous in an emergency.  Tile is a Bluetooth enabled key chain device that syncs with a cell phone app (Android or Apple) and helps locate any items you wish to pair with it.  You can even find your phone (including on silent!), but pushing the Tile key chain device.  This can save anyone a world of frustration on a busy morning or in a situation that requires quick action.
